Leicester Energy Agency has already helped hundreds of businesses across Leicester and Leicestershire to increase their energy efficiency and reduce their energy costs under previous ERDF programmes.
I found the whole process very easy. Nicola addressed all of our queries and is very helpful and friendly. It was all handled quickly and efficiently.
LINC Medical Systems Limited is a Leicester based distributor of urology and renal equipment and consumables, based in Freemans Common Industrial Park.
Having recently purchased new premises within Leicester, LINC Medical Systems Ltd wanted the building to be as eco-friendly as possible, due to their commitment to the ISO 14001:2004 policy.
Therefore, LINC Medical Systems Ltd contacted Nicola Holt about the Carbon Management for Leicester SMEs grant, to enable them to improve their energy efficiency.
It was highlighted that the old single glazed windows could be improved to increase energy efficiency, as these were installed when the property was originally built. Therefore, LINC Medical Systems Ltd saw an opportunity to save money on their heating bill through changing the windows with new ‘A’ rated double glazed windows.
LINC Medical Systems Ltd was awarded £1,000, for the supply and installation of the double glazed windows. ‘A’ rated double glazed windows are much more effective at reducing heat loss from the property, thus reducing the heating bill.
LINC Medical Systems Ltd has also improved their building energy efficiency, by installing a number of other measures;
- 30kW solar PV panels on the roof
- Composite Polyurethane insulated roof and cladding
- Rainwater harvesting system
- 99% of lights are LED with automatic movement activation sensors
- Heat recovery ventilation system for a healthy working environment
